
NOTE
1. This pullover is intended to stretch to fit close to the body. Make the size with a finished chest measurement 2" to 4" smaller than your bust measurement.
2. The central cable panel appears only on the front.
3. On charts, even numbered rows are RS rows.
With smaller needles, CO 69 (75, 81) sts. Work in K1 P1 rib for 2", inc 7 sts evenly across the last RS row — 76 (82, 88) sts. Change to larger needles.
Row 1 (WS): P6 (9, 12), PM, work row 1 of Chart 1, PM, work row 1 of Chart 2, PM, work row 1 of chart 1, PM, P6 (9, 12).
Keeping the first and last 6 (9, 12) sts in st st, and working rem sts in chart patterns as established, continue through row 35 of Chart 2 — 80 (86, 92) sts.
SHAPE SIDES
Dec 1 st at beg and end of every RS row 3 times — 74 (80, 86) sts. Continue through row 47 of Chart 2. Inc 1 st at beg and end of next row, then every 8th row 3 times more.
AT THE SAME TIME, when row 70 of Chart 2 is complete, SHAPE NECK:
Next row (WS): Work 36 (39, 42) sts in patterns as established, join another
ball of yarn and BO center 6 sts, continue in patterns to end. Maintain patterns as established, and work both sides at same time. BO 2 sts at each neck edge twice, then dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row 4 times — 29 (32, 35) sts rem on each side.
SHAPE ARMHOLES
When row 82 of Chart 2 is complete, BO 4 st at each armhole edge once, then BO 2 st at each armhole edge once, then dec 1 st at each armhole edge 1 (2, 3) times — 22 (24, 26) sts rem on each side. Work even until armhole measures 4" (4½", 5").
SHAPE SHOULDERS
Bind off 4 (4, 6) sts at each armhole edge 3 (1, 1) times, then BO 5 sts at each armhole edge 2 (4, 4) times.
With smaller needles, CO 67 (73, 79) sts. Work in K1 P1 rib for 2", inc 3 sts evenly across the last RS row — 70 (76, 82) sts. Change to larger needles.
Row 1 (WS): P6 (9, 12), PM, work row 1 of Chart 1, PM, P18, PM, work row 1 of Chart 1, PM, P6 (9, 12).
Keeping center and side panels in st st, continue as established, working side shaping as for front. When same length as front to armhole, SHAPE ARMHOLES: BO 4 st at each armhole edge once, then BO 2 st at each armhole edge once, then dec 1 st at each armhole edge 2 (3, 4) times — 56 (60, 64) sts rem. Work even until armhole measures 5½" (6", 6½").
SHAPE SHOULDERS
BO 4 (4, 6) sts at beg of next 6 (2, 2) rows, then BO 5 sts at beg of next 4 (8, 8) rows. BO rem 12 sts.
With smaller needles, CO 52 (56, 60) sts. Work in K1 P1 rib for 1½". Change
to larger needles.
Row 1 (WS): P16 (18, 20), PM, work row 1 of Chart 1, PM, P16 (18, 20) sts. Keeping side panels in st st, and center panel in Chart 1 pattern, work 4 rows without shaping.
SHAPE CAP
BO 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then BO 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st beg and end of every RS row 7 (9, 11) times — 26 sts. Work even until cap measures 4" (4½", 5") (to fit the front armhole up to the shoulder). Place a marker on work at end of row, and continue to work for 3½" (4", 4½") from the marker or to fit across the top of the front shoulder, ending with a RS row. **
SHAPE TOP OF CAP
BO 5 sts at beg of the next 4 WS rows, then BO rem 6 sts.
Work same as for left sleeve to **, ending with a WS row.
SHAPE TOP OF CAP
BO 5 sts at beg of the next 4 RS rows, then BO rem 6 sts.
Do not block pieces.
FRONT NECK BAND
With smaller needles, pick up and K 70 (76, 82) sts evenly around the front neck edge.
Row 1 (WS): {P2, P in front and back of next st} 23 (25, 27) times, P1 — 93 (101, 109) sts. Continue in K1 P1 rib for 6 rows.
To bind off, first BO 32 (36, 40) sts in rib, K2tog while binding off the next 30 sts, BO normally in rib to the end.
Sew sleeves into armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
COLLAR
With RS facing, pick up and K 6 sts from side of right neckband, 24 sts from top of right sleeve, 13 sts across the back neck, 24 sts from top of left sleeve, 6 sts from side of left neckband — 73 sts. Work in K1 P1 rib for 7 rows.
